I think the machinist is referring to Socket Head Cap Screws. SHCP. they use a hex driver to turn them and usually are less likely to strip out. They are available in most metric thread sizes from a variety of sources including I thin Lowe's Hardware stores. Sears and others have some special stripped screw head removers that might work to get the old ones out just find a source for the replacements first. Usually heat and the good screwdriver does the trick, If the carb is still mounted on the spigot an impact SD may not work very well as it needs to work against a solid screw. Max
